Terms of Sale & Policies

Thank you for considering Humble Roots Farm for your next dairy goat!  Please take a moment to read through our terms before placing a deposit. We’ve created them to protect both you and the animals we raise with such care.

General Policy

  •  Health & Care: All of our kids are bottle raised from birth, a practice that supports early socialization and strong human bonding, while also protecting the health and longevity of our does’ udders.  Please be prepared to continue bottle feeding your kid after pickup. We’re happy to provide guidance and support to ensure a smooth transition. Each kid will be fully vaccinated with CDT and BoSe before leaving the farm. While not required, we highly recommend purchasing kids in pairs, as having a same age companion can significantly reduce stress and ease the adjustment to a new home. Pair discounts are available.

  • Payment & Pickup: Kids are available for pickup at 4 weeks old and must be paid in full before leaving the farm. We do not release kids before 4 weeks. A boarding fee applies to any kids kept on the farm beyond 6 weeks unless prior arrangements are made.

  • Wethering Policy: Pet wethers are welcome to return to the farm at 12 weeks of age for banding, free of charge. We kindly ask that you do not wether earlier - allowing time for proper development is important for the long-term health and well-being of the animal.

  • Pickup & Transport:  We’re happy to coordinate pickups here at the farm and will work with you to make the process smooth and easy. In some cases, we may be able to assist with transport. If you choose to use a third-party transporter, please research them carefully to ensure your animal’s safety - we cannot be held responsible once animals leave our care. All transport arrangements, health certificates, CVIs, and shipping costs are the buyer’s responsibility and must be paid in full before the animal’s departure.

  •  Health Guarantee: All animals are sold as healthy to the best of our knowledge at the time of sale. We are happy to share our herd health protocols and testing results (CAE, CL, Johnes, TB, Brucellosis) to help you make an informed decision. Once an animal leaves our care, we cannot guarantee health due to factors beyond our control, such as stress, environment, or handling. However, we encourage you to reach out anytime with questions or concerns! We’re here to support you and help ensure the best possible care for your new goat.

  • Sales Are Final: Please be sure you’re ready and able to care for your new goat(s) before reserving. However, in unforeseen circumstances, we may accept animals back with no refund issued. Returned animals must come from a herd with recent, clean bioscreening results to protect the health and safety of our herd.

  • Farm Rights: We reserve the right to retain any kid from our breeding program. If this occurs, we will work with you to provide a suitable replacement or discuss alternative options.

We’re honored to be part of your journey into dairy goats and are always happy to stay in touch and provide guidance. Thank you for supporting our farm and our herd!
