Nestled amidst the forested hillside of rural northeastern Vermont, Humble Roots Farm stands as a testament to the abundance of nature, serving as a source of inspiration for all those who seek to live in harmony with the land. We are a husband and wife team (and along with our 4 rescue dogs), we are devoted to sustainable farming methods and compassionate animal husbandry. As responsible land stewards, our land management approach prioritizes soil regeneration through selective rotational grazing and biodynamic gardening. This creates a balanced and efficient ecosystem where the land and livestock feed each other. We take pride in growing nutrient-dense and compassionately harvested food
Handcrafted Products - Our guiding principle in life is to maintain simplicity and purity. We see this philosophy in all we do, but particularly in our handcrafted skincare products. Instead of using harmful chemicals and endocrine disruptors, we use minimally processed natural components like pure essential oils and naturally derived dyes, like turmeric and rose clay. Many of our ingredients are sourced from our farm, enabling us to ensure the highest quality at affordable prices. This is a testimony to our dedication to making the farm-to-table lifestyle accessible to all. We are proud to offer you the same products that our family enjoys every day.
With a special place in our hearts for our love of dogs, we were inspired to create a unique range of natural pet products. A portion of all proceeds are donated to animal rescues and fund our continued volunteering efforts.
Raw Goat Milk & Registered Nigerian Dwarf Goats - While we are still in the process of obtaining licensure from the state of Vermont to sell raw goat milk intended for human consumption (coming soon!), we offer raw goat milk available for animal use only. Great for pets! Please reach out for information about our available goats for sale or to make breeding reservations for 2025.
Pastured Meat, Poultry & Eggs - We offer free-range eggs, hatching eggs, pastured goat meat, and processed poultry that are available seasonally. We keep Sebastopol geese, Muscovy, barnyard mix ducks, Freedom Ranger chickens, registered Nigerian Dwarf goats, and Boer goats. Our livestock are fed on natural forage and supplemented with quality and locally milled feed for optimal health. Please reach out for more information.
Farm stand and farmers markets coming soon!
Until then, we have products listed in our online farm store. Please arrange for shipping or contact us for local delivery/pickup. Free local delivery is available within 15 miles of Lyndonville, VT. See eligibility at checkout.
We created Humble Roots Farm in 2024, after spending four years preparing our hillside for this adventure, working to regenerate and restore 15 acres of neglected land. When we bought our cabin in 2020, the surrounding property was densely wooded with overgrown dying forest. So, we selectively logged and planted 230 native shrubs and trees. Then, we reestablished the bare earth with native wildflowers, legumes, and grasses to create extensive natural ecosystems.
We established our registered dairy goat herd in 2021. After thorough health testing and implementing regular bioscreening and sanitation practices, we began consuming dairy products from our herd and have enjoyed it ever since.
In the rare moments we have free time, we enjoy volunteering with animal rescues and fostering dogs. Since 2020, we have fostered and rescued over 50 dogs! We also try to take time to enjoy our own interests, too. Casey holds an associate's degree in Agricultural Engineering and his favorite thing to do is improve his skills. He's always working on equipment, between construction, mining, agriculture, and small engines. Ceara spends most of her time with the animals, which is exactly what she always wanted, between training dogs and managing the goat herd. She also loves working in the gardens, growing flowers, and dreaming up big projects!
